Holding a license from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and commercial registration number 2/32736, Roma Media Television Production Company was established in the capital city of Sana'a in 2008 as a privately-owned entity, with the aim of addressing the need of Yemeni society for unbiased media and journalism that effectively expresses their political, social, and economic concerns and aspirations.
Roma Media embarked on its journey with a primary focus on producing documentary films, recognizing their potential as a starting point, and subsequently released a series of impactful documentaries that delved into a wide range of legal, political, and social issues.
By 2015, Roma Media meticulously readied itself for a momentous occasion—the grand opening of its cutting-edge headquarters in the heart of Yemeni capital, Sana'a. Embarking on an ambitious journey, it diligently equipped its state-of-the-art television studios and undertook a strategic expansion by assembling a team of talented and promising Yemeni journalists and media professionals spanning diverse roles in television production, including journalists, editors, technicians, presenters, and a network of correspondents.
This expansion was driven by the company's commitment to meet the evolving demands of a new phase as an operator and producer for Belqees TV. Despite the challenging conditions prevailing in the country, Roma Media persevered and confidently emerged as a prominent player in the Yemeni media scene, establishing itself as a pioneering Yemeni media project through the launch of its websites and electronic platforms, showcasing its commitment to excellence, adaptability, and innovation, thus rightfully claiming a leading position in the industry.
As a consequence of the coup against the political process and Yemen plunging into a state of civil war, the company's headquarters and studios in Sana'a were looted and closed on April 24, 2015, thereby preventing its operation like other independent media outlets.
